Today is my last post for Farming Fort Collins after three years of writing the blog. I leave it in good hands. I am already a big fan of Amy’s. I can’t wait to continue being a supporter from the sidelines.
The last three years have been a great gift. I’ve met wonderful people doing amazing things for farming, food and community. I am excited to take a larger role in supporting our local food system. And I appreciate the support of all the readers, some who have become great friends, for sharing your love of all things dirt.
It is a wonderful time of year to explore what Fort Collins has to offer in all of its abundance. The outdoor farmers markets are starting. We continue to have many new farms sprouting up. There will be great tatstings and farm dinners. I encourage you to take a cooking class to expand your culinary repertoire. Check out your local spice shop. And grow something you’ve never tried before. Raise a chick or try your hand at beekeeping. Get your hands in the dirt.
We live in an amazing place, with, as I said, a great abundance. I hope I’ve inspired some of you to eat locally and plant a garden. I know in meeting many of you and the many local food producers in the area, I have been inspired and pushed the boundaries of what I can do!
So it is with this last post that I say thank you for all the wonderful support. If you need assistance on your local food exploration, I won’t be far away, so please feel free to check in with me at The Pig and the Plow. Until then..
Yours in Dirt – Erica
