This week we had a pleasant reminder of Spring’s unpredictability, which in and of itself is predictable. Hail. The forecast calls for some rain mixed with snow Sunday. In Colorado, we are typically not safe from frosts until after May 15 (next week, YAY!) Annuals and young plants may not fare well in these conditions.
With that said, ’tis the season for starter plants! All of the local nurseries/greenhouses are beginning to sell vegetable starter plants. This weekend, starting today, Garden Sweet is opeining their farm stand for the weekends to sell starter plants.
Garden Sweet is a local CSA farm specializing in organically grown vegetables and berries, located at 719 West Willox Lane in Fort Collins, provides organically gfrown plant starts grown from seed in their greenhouses. They will have a variety of tomatoes, herbs and other vegetables available for purchase from 10:00 to 6:00 each day this weekend and each weekend throughout May.
